VICTORIA ENRIQUEZ, a consecutive La Plume recipient and two-time 2nd Place winner, published in April 2025, at 15 years old, her first book, My Math Mess. It is a heartwarming and empowering book about her personal journey of discovering and understanding her learning difference. She shares how she faced struggles, found answers, and learned to cope with dyscalculia.

EMILIA RAMOS SAMPER published in September 2024 her second book of The Shadow Heir Trilogy titled Thieves of Time Forgotten. You can find it on Amazon by clicking here. 

Emilia is among the youngest people to ever publish a book, having released her debut novel, Crown of Scales and Wonder, when she was only ten years old (see her former bio below.) She is also the first-place winner of the La Plume Young Writers’ Contest and the Mary Ann Hutchison Memorial Story Contest. Her short story, Lady of Sand and Scars, was published by Owl Hollow Press in the teen author anthology Gathering the Magic with a foreword by Eragon author Christopher Paolini. Emilia loves theater, singing, and all things creative!

EMILIA RAMOS SAMPER published Crown of Scales and Wonder, her debut novel when she was ten years old, and first book of The Shadow Heir Trilogy. She loves all things to do with creative writing and the performing arts. Emilia received the 1st place in 2019 in the La Plume Young Writers’ Contest, and has been a regular contestant and a winner again in 2022 and 2023. She also recently won the NATS singing competition and the Speaker Honor and Literary Icon Award. Emilia has been writing since age six. It was only a matter of time before she published a book. A recent graduate from New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Bianca Sproul studied the intersection of environmental studies and media. NICOLE NIXON was awarded three consecutive La Plume First Place wins in 2016, 2017 and 2018. 

I’m a data science major with computer science and history minors at Northwestern University, class of 2023. I enjoy the way data science blends math, computer science and statistics with creativity. In Fall 2023, I will start my career as a Technology Consultant on the Data and Analytics track at EY. I also enjoy creative writing and have published two fictional novels which are available on Amazon.

ISIS ARGUELLO won the La Plume Grand Prize with her short story The Horror of Love she developed into a complete fiction now published and sold at Barnes & Noble and on Amazon.
